FRIENDS OF CLAWS'N'PAWS FACEBOOK GROUP NEWS


One of our volunteers in Peterlee has been extremely successful with her 'Cash for Cans' recycling group. People on her round save all their empty aluminium drinks cans and she collects them and trades them in and all the proceeds are donated 100% to Claws'n'Paws Hartlepool. This single project has reached its target of £1000 and continues to raise funds for ClawsnPaws Hartlepool. A Fundraising Achievement Certificate has been awarded. A VERY BIG Thank You from Claws'n'Paws Hartlepool to all the Peterlee volunteers. Your hard work is very much appreciated. It's great how cleaning up the environment like this helps birds and animals in the environment in return.

Based in Hartlepool. Anyone Over 18 can register to become a member of our Friends of Claws'n'Paws Facebook Group. Members of the group help birds and animals in their neighbourhoods. LOOKING FOR A REHABILITATION AREA.
We now have a strategy to open small Rehabilitation Area/Units in and around our Hartlepool area. This will enable us to give the wild birds and animals we take into foster care extra rest and recuperation before they are released back into the wild. This is called 'soft' release which is much better than 'hard' release where they are not given time to adjust before being released back into the wild. We are looking for small secure rural areas with good surrounding habitat. If you or anyone you know of who may be able to help then let us know by email to info@clawsnpawsarc.com .
Meanwhile our work continues to expand in as many ways as possible, using existing unpaid voluntary resources. Our awareness campaigns continue to gain momentum and growth with the help of our Friends of Claws'n'Paws Group which is also growing in strength and numbers on-line at the Friends of Claws'n'Paws Hartlepool Facebook Page.

Wild & domestic small birds & animals are now supported and cared for by using local foster carers and re-habbers, whilst our advice & rescue support work never stops.

BIRD & ANIMAL RESCUE

When members of the public ask for help we provide an on-line guidance and advice service to assist whenever possible. Our volunteers also keep a look out in their own neighbourhoods at key public places in the area, such as Parks, Beaches, Ponds, Lakes, Allotments and Reserves, to try and help ensure that all our birds and animals, domestic or wild are kept safe and free from abuse, cruelty or neglect.  If YOU would like to get involved please get in touch by Registering with us. NEWS FROM OUR SUPPORTERS

Our friend Kath helps raise awareness and donations of food and gifts through her work at Morrisons Hartlepool. Thank you Kath for all your hard work and gifts.

We also have good links with RSPB Saltholme and continue to work well with our colleagues in the Bird & Animal Conservation sector.

Since  2011 we have been registered and supported by the 'Support Adoption for Pets' Charity at the local Pets At Home store and we are on their supported Charities list. Donations from Support Adoption for Pets have helped us provide food, shelter and medications for the birds and animals we help, particularly from their VIP Card scheme. You can nominate us as your supported Charity by getting yourself a VIP Card in store and nominate Claws'n'Paws Hartlepool as your nominated supporters Charity.

We are always delighted to receive donations from  'Support Adoption for Pets'  for our Charity Work. We are always very grateful for this kind of support which has helped us secure homes and better shelters and equipment  for the birds and animals we support. We continue to be a registered VIP Charity with the Adoption for Pets Charity and our volunteers are still willing to help with occasional events in-store at Hartlepool when invited to do so.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED THEIR TIME & TO ALL OUR OUR PARTNERS,ASSOCIATES, SPONSORS & DONORS. 
NONE of our Staff or Volunteers are Paid - All donations go to the upkeep, care & welfare of the birds and animals we regularly support on a day to day basis.


We also support and thank OFCA (Owton Fens Community Association) for their help at their Community Farm, Summerhill, with storage, whilst we are establishing our present and future resources needs.

Thank you for your continued Gifts for the Birds & Animals we help. We help in a variety of ways, including supporting other similar charities and shelters by passing on gifts of food for their birds and animals, as well as helping to support birds and animals placed with our Foster Carers, 
& Re-Habbers. Our trained volunteer members help with this devoted task.
